"Really?" inquired Mac. He nodded. "Why thank you so much!"
"Go on now ma'am," he replied sheepishly.
Mac left sauntering with all she had. She walked out of the inn, and past the large tree in the center of the square. At the other end of the square Rosalee stood with a bundle of what looked like rags, and a smile on her face.
"Well," she smiled, "he took it better than I thought. "
Mac nodded, "Yup. Come on now, we need to get to the docks, and see which kind of ship will provide what we need for the cheapest amount." Rosalee nodded, and followed Mac as she began to head right outside of the town walls, and down to the banks of th

The Good, Bad, and the Hungry?
"You're not going to beleive this." Bill said after looking outside. "I'm seeing it, but I still can't beleive it."
Raffen jogged over to the door which was open as wide as Bill's mouth. He looked outside and his jaw dropped too. It was another group of animals, but unlike a pack of wolves, this wasn't a natural team. In front were four large bears, each bear had four wolves following behind, in perfect formation, walking towards the farm as if in march. This was not a natural occurance and for a moment, Raffen felt like fleeing rather than helping. But the warrior in him would not let him brea
"So let me get this straight, there are witches all over the world who protect people from demons?" the confused Pastor asked.
"That's right. Here, in every spell book the legend is written:
"A long time ago in a dimension that exists directly alongside our own, an ancient war was fought and a great heroine gave up her power and her life to save all existence. For if the balance between good and evil was not upheld in one dimension, that dimension along with the rest of reality would unravel and be utterly destroyed. The heroine, born in ancient times, was up against a powerful ancient demon. She knew that she could never be victorious,

Mac picked up the carpetbag and withdrew what Old Shakespeare had taken a bite of and replied, "Man for being a wise, three century old wizard you sure are stupid. What you took a bite of was leather!"
Old Shakespeare made a face out the papers and looked at it, "Why by-golly it is isn't it!" Then he slapped himself on the forehead with a paper hand.
Mac rolled her eyes and replied, "Was this what you were trying to eat Ande?" She showed him a half-chewed piece of tan leather.
He shook his head. "I must have taken out the wrong thing," he replied, "because what I tried to eat was definitely chicken jerky."

The Journey
As the light cleared and she could see where she led herself to, she realized she was back at home. Running in yelling "Mom, Dad I am finally home!!!", she realized no one was home. The place had been ransacked. Worried for the life of her parents and what may have occurred she began to search for clues, until she came across a letter:
Dear Chosen,
Your Parents are safe for now. Give up your search for the second chosen or we cannot be responsible for your parent's fate.
Melanie had realized what had taken place. But how could somebody know that she was a chosen when she had found out a
Late it was; dark the hour. The man sat, mulling over nuances and inconsequentialities over a glowing tome. He could feel an ill eating into his very soul, demanding more than he could give. A moan, dry; etched with fatigue escaped his lips, as he realized there was only one cure for his coming madness.
The Steppes of Carp stretched up before him, their rugged sight daunting his every nerve. Grimly, he held himself firmly, and set out on his journey over the series of plateaus. As he ascended their steep slopes, the air visibly chilled, and shivers wracked his body. Neither helped his oncoming debilitation.
At last, he achieved the su

"Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey!" Krono woke up with a start. It seemed like only seconds since she had fallen asleep. She opened her eyes and was surprised to see Vincent in the room carrying a tray. It had been just like in the hospital, which made Krono feel uneasy. She sat up in bed, allowing him to set the tray over her lap. "Mornin'!" He said with a smile.
"Good morning." She said, yawning. She had never been inclined to eat over the past few months, but now that she was away from the hospital, she was more than happy to eat anything that was placed in front of her.

Mac replied, "Well I think that I will go and sit while you are still entertaining guests."
"Nonsense!" cried the amiable Myle.
Mac blushed. "Really, your wife does not like me much."
"Doll-face?" he inquired casually. "Well she isn't used to such unconventional people around these parts."
"Ah," replied Mac realizing that the scumbag was about to hit on her.
Myle replied, "You truly are a beauty you know. How'd you know what's-his-face anyhow?"
"I knew Torin," she spat, "because he saved my life."

"Ma'am? How are you feeling tonight?" The nurse came in to check on her patient, pulling back the curtains to let in the view of the sunset. It was almost eight o'clock, and the sun was just about to vanish behind the mountains. On the nightstand stood an elegant vase filled with red and white roses and some carnations as well. "It's good that you've been able to recognize some names and places. That means you're one step closer to finding out who you are." The nurse disappeared out the door, but within a few seconds, she reappeared carrying a tray. On it stood a plate of crackers, a salad and tomato soup. Orange j

Prologue
The sky was a dark gray, revealing a nice shade of pale pink and, paler still, yellows stretching like fingers in a bleak gloom across the eastern horizon. Snow fell from the grim skies and on to the ground, hiding the hundreds of bodies of elves, humans, and evil creatures alike. Dark blood stained the snow and fallen banners of the nations of elf and man: the Middle Kingdom, a gleaming white sword, outlined with silver thread, against a blue flag. And the Empire of Deseram, a banner of red and black with a silver moon and the magical mark for power in a flowing line in the shape of a simply drawn eagle taking flight. Only sad remi

He came the first day of the winter that she was four. She remembers, with clouds and dreams around the edges, the passage of that year which led to his coming; she remembers how soft the spring was, and how the sheep got into the garden in the summer and her mother said words that she'd never heard before and then forbid her to repeat them, and she remembers the promise – the promise! – in the wind on the first apple-cider autumn day when the red leaves came down and perched in her hair like little birds.
She has always been in love with winter, always always, since before she even knew what love means. That day, though, was the fi

The entire town was atop the hill where the funeral pyre was about to be set. The gentlewomen were silently weeping with their families near them. The merchants, and tradesmen all wore somber expressions, the entire town had loved him deeply. And in his honor the entire town wore black. The Mayor of the town was next to the priestess who was about to perform the rights, when seemingly out of nowhere a woman in a scarlet trench-coat appeared, and bowed her head in front of the coffin, as if she was paying her last respects.
The priestess glared at her. "Time to pay final respects is over," she whispered sharply.

YGRAINE'S STORY-
The Fate of Camelot
'Ygraine dear, come here', Lamel called to her daughter.
Ygraine sighed, and started toward the door. I'll wager this is about my going to the Abbey, she thought.
Ygraine had known ever since she was little, that she would have to go to the Abbey, and become a nun. She didn't really worry then, she hadn't known much about it. But since her mother had enlightened her three years ago, she had been dreading the day of which she was to go. Now Ygraine was nearly of age, and long speeches constantly flowed from Lamel's lips about the advantages and honour of entering the convent. She had an address f

Raffen refused to look back. He had been banished from his home town because he was falsely accused of raping a sixteen year old girl named Jenny. He was furious with the whole town, all except his little brother, Liam. Liam had been the only one to back him in the case, something not even his parents would do. Liam had even offered to go with Raffen, but Raffen said he wouldn't let him do that until he got settled somewhere. He walked away from town with only a box of matches, an old sword, and the clothes on his back. He knew the first and most likely biggest challenge

The Mysterious Phantom's Eyes
No one deserves to love someone and then lose. It doesn't matter how terrible the person is, and it doesn't matter what they may have done. No one deserves that pain, that heartache. It is one of those terrible things that no one deserved, no one earns, and it always seems to happen to the kindest, gentlest, and frailest of people. Why this happens, no body knows, not even me. No matter how much or hard I think on it, no matter how much I contemplate, I get no closer to an answer.
My sad eyes glanced around the room that had belonged to my late Master. I could see him standing tall and regal, instructing me how to sit, stand, and walk
